ReplyDeleteThe Rainforest by Michael D
Dripping water off the leaves,
Just what the rainforest needs.
For all the plants and trees to grow,
That's one rule every gardener should know.
A fresh green shoot pops out of the ground,
While hangs an eerie silence not making a sound.
Millions of other shrubs and plants also grew, Under the not always sky so blue.
The first drop falls out of the cloud,
To us quiet, but to the rainforest loud.

Hope You guys are all having a great holiday !!
I've been down at Lake Kaniere with Chelsea and Eilish B. We had heaps of fun there and got afew good ideas for our journals, from all the landscape!
ReplyDeleteP.S: I like the poem Michael it's really good :)
I was thinking of going out to Lake Kaniere today! I should have gone then I would have caught up with you all. I'm so happy to hear that you thinking about things to put in your journals. Have you had a look on the wiki that I have put on the links up on the top left hand corner of our blog. If you go into it you just click on your name on the left then it will take you to your own page then you click on 'edit' which will have a big pencil beside it and THEN you can start typing on your page. Don't forget to save when you are finished.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have all had a good day. I really enjoyed Michael's poem as well. We have a lot of talented writers in our class.
Funny talking about Kaniere I went there yesterday to do the Water race walk. It took my granny,Brother,Mum and I about 2 hours to walk the whole thing. Im not sure why we walked it but we were just making the most of the beautiful weather we've had.! Im working on another poem about the walk I did yesterday aswell.

I just got back from Wellington. But on Monday we went to Christchurch and came back on Tuesday then on Thursday we went to Blenheim and on Thursday we went to Wellington. It was soo fun on the ferry we saw dolphins!!! Sophie was sea-sick though.
ReplyDeleteI have been just practicing basketball, hanging out with my friends and going on facebook.
ReplyDeleteHi everybody, I just got back from Fairlie yesterday, long drive. On Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday I went skiing at Mt Dobson and went on the Platter, T-Bar and Triple Chairlift. I also learnt to do parrallel skies so i dont have to go down the T-Bar doing Pizza slice. I also had a very scary experience going down the T-Bar(it is very steep).Mum and I were going to do the West top track at the top of the T-Bar, anyway we got to the top safely and got off. About a quarter of the way across the track(just after we passed the shirt front turnoff)it started to get steeper and steeper and in the end we were skiing around the hill. I didn't have any poles so mum had to pull me all of the way around. After we had finally vanquished that we skied around the chairlift and back to the carpark. Overall it was a scary but fun experience and I can't wait to share my adventures with my peers.
ReplyDeleteP.S.Michael I love the poem!!
Hello everyone. I got back from seeing my big sister Rachel in Dunedin on Monday night. We left on Thursday at 4.30pm and arrived at 3.30am Friday morning. We travelled down in a red bus that was a mobile camper. We stopped at Arthurs Pass, Timaru and other places along the way. In Dunedin we went to see 2 of the main tourist attractions in Dunedin which are Larachs Castle and the Cadburys chocolate factory. They say that Larnachs Castle is haunted but I think the only horrifying things are the life size wax dummies. They just gave me the creeps. Here is a fact, there are only 2 castles in New Zealand one being Larnachs Castle and the other one is Cargills Castle in Dunedin as well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got back a couple of days later I went to see my cousin Liam and we went swimming at the pool and the float was up. We had a kind of wrestling match on it as we were running through. In the end we both fell off. Hope you are all having a great holiday and see you next term.
Thanks for sharing your holiday activities with us. Sorry it has taken me so long to approve your posts because I'm in Timaru and I haven't had any internet access until tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have been doing some interesting things over the holidays.
Hope you had a good time in Timaru Miss Paterson. I went to Timaru on Friday last week. Mum and I did alot of shopping!
ReplyDeleteI did have a lovely time in Timaru. Good on your mum for doing all that shopping. I really wanted to get into those shops and do some serious buying but we were just too busy catching up with my sisters, nieces, nephews and parents. The weather was so nice while we were there. We were very lucky.
