Map Work for Week 2, Term 3

Please post your map work information here! Don't forget that I need to know the time difference between NZ and your chosen country as well as the time there and here! Last week some of you didn't work out the difference :)

    World Map Work:
    Korea
    In 1945,after World War 2,Korea was split into two countries.
    Time Difference:
    There:14:31.19 Here:17:31:19 Difference:3 Hours

    New Zealand Map Work:
    Blackwater,Blackball & Baryytown
    -Blackwater used to be a mining town and was very famous for that.
    When I visted Blackwater we used to have to work on the farm that we owned up there.

    Russia/Russian Federation:

    *Russia is the largest country in the world, stretching over an area of around 17 million square kilometers.
    *Russia houses more then 100 different ethnic groups.
    *There are eleven time zones in Russia.

    Time There: 8.15am Wednesday morning
    Time Here: 4.15pm Wednesday afternoon
    The timje difference is 8 hours and the time (8.15am) is the time in Moscow.

    Facts:
    Barrytown was settled in the 1860's and was a centre for gold dredging.

    I did Spain and a fact is that Spain is in the top 3 most visited countries in the world.

    *Burkes Pass

    *The church in Burkes Pass(St Patrick's) was built in 1871 but in 1992 it was turned into a gallery/craft shop.

    I remember going to Burkes Pass about 3 years ago, when my family and I went up there to place flowers on my Nana's grave, I remember it being a very wind day.

    *Blackball.

    I've been to Blenheim and it was really hot and theres heaps of vine-yards.

    Facts.

    -Bluff is famous for it's oysters.
    -Blenheim is one of the most sunniest towns in N.Z.
    -Blackball was a coal-mining town 100 years ago.

  20. Spain is the champions of the Fifi world cup time here 8.15 pm time there 9.15 am time difference 11 hours NZ Bulls town folk are very cleaver at getting people to laugh. You will see what I mean when I bring to school tomorrow what I printed off the internet. YOU WILL LAUGH YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. I did Hope vally in the USA my fact is the population in 2000 was 1649.The time there was 04:26:38 and the time here was 20:26:02.The time difference was 16 hours 36 seconds.
