Our Writing Motivation

We have looked at this video today to inspire us to write. We have to choose our audience, our purpose and the style we want to use to write. We used our writers journal to take notes as we watched the video. Some of us will put our writing below so come back and see what we have done!

  3. Mollie and Eilish's poemJuly 1, 2010 at 4:25 PM

    T.he trees are scattered scarcely
H.orrible sound of the cougar's snarl
    E.xtremly empty there's nothing there

    B.ig bears there and here
A.ll the other animals hide in fear
    R.oar roar goes the bear
    R.oar roar everywhere
E.xtreme terrain rocks jutting in my way
N.ow the fearsome beast and I are face to face

L.uscious, something the grass is not
A.s airy silence fills the air
N.othing stops the creature from the chase
D.own on the rocks he claws my face

  4. Cougar and Bear

As the cougar chased the baby bear, it cried for help. Fear is all it felt. It had no escape. Running up a long log, rushing currents below him. Out jumps the cougar following him to the very edge of the log. The bear thought this was the end. The noise of the water and the noise of the cougar made it unsure of what to do next. It was going to be the cougars dinner. CRACK, SNAP, the log breaks and the baby bear splashes into the water. It is free from the cougar but not free from the dangerous, hungry water pushing him down the stream.

  5. As I roll around swishing, moving my hips side to side I get up to see the cougar prancing around trying to catch me.

As I run through the fields of gold and green. The heat catches me huffing and puffing. Dry with thirst. Catching my breath would hurt me or more. When I check to see if you are there. My heart sinks. Boom! You are there. As I run to a log I reach the top but try to back off. Bam! You're there like those two tones rocks. As I step back the log cracks. Oh no! When you get close the branch snaps.

  6. The video was wonderful and I learnt a lot about wildlife that I would never have thought of. The part that mostly caught my attention was when the light brown cougar started the chase after the young bear. The music scared me so I put myself in the two animals position. While watching the video it made me see how they were feeling. When I was the bear I felt weak, knowing that the powerful cougar had got me and it felt like there was no way out. Suddenly I felt like the vicious cougar. I felt strong, powerful, on top of the world. It felt absolutely wonderful. The video was getting more interesting while it was playing because you don't know what is going to happen next. The video keeps you interested until the end. I was so emotional because I could feel how the young bear was feeling. I could tell what the big cat was thinking about by the expression on his face and the strange look in his eyes. Somehow I could feel that the young brown bear was trying to tell me something... but I just don't know what.

  7. Dear Bear,

I'm so sorry I hurt you yesterday. I was just so hungry since my Mother and Father have been shot by some hunters. It was so horrible. I just wasn't thinking straight. Would you like to come to my cave for 'tea' tonight?

    Yours sincerely

    Cougar

  8. Dear Diary,

I come so close today! If only I could swim. There was a little bear playing in the long grass. I spotted him but he saw me and ran away. I chased him, he ran faster. The bear ran along a fallen log resting above the waters surface. I walked slowly along the log until I reached him and then, he fell! I was so angry. Ran back along the log and followed the river. I reached the end. The young bear was desperately trying to swim away but the river was too strong. I felt sorry for him but my head and stomach felt different. I was hungry. The bear came near, he jumped off. I was getting really frustrated with him. He ran up onto the shore. I whacked him, he started to roar, behind him was his mother roaring at me. I was so scared I ran as fast as I could back home. Today I was taught a lesson. I shouldn't pick on anyone smaller than me.

  9. As I stalked my prey I was sore and hungry. Then I spotted a bear cub.

I pounced at the cub. It was terrified and started to run. I was hoping it would surrender, but it didn't. I had sprinted into a sudden death onto a log with a dead end. I licked my lips as I was ready for lunch. The log had suddenly broke and the bear cub fell into the icy cold river. I was even more eager to get this cub now it had made me so angry. I excitedly ran down the river. I thought "yes" he is trapped in the water but then...
