Our Writing Motivation

We have looked at this video today to inspire us to write. We have to choose our audience, our purpose and the style we want to use to write. We used our writers journal to take notes as we watched the video. Some of us will put our writing below so come back and see what we have done!

Map Work

Use the cluster map or globe on our blog site. Choose a dot. Find out where that dot represents. Mark it on your world map in your homework book. In the comment box below:

- Name the place you have chosen
- Name two towns, cities or landmarks that are close to your chosen place
- Find two facts about your chosen place or one of the places you have identified as being close by
- Think of a question you have about that place and write it in your comment box as well.

Weekend Sport Report 25 -27 June

Ok guys I really want to hear how you get on with your weekend sport. If you have any photos from your sport over the weekend bring them into school on Monday and we will upload them to our sports page. If you didn't play sport this weekend but did something else cool tell us about that too. Have a great weekend everyone :)

Sports photos

I've just added a new page to our blog. If you look on the right hand side you will find a link that is called "Sports Photos". I've added some of the photos from today's rugby game and I will add more photos as people bring them to me from your sports.

Raising money for our ski trip

We are planning a ski trip next term. We have started our fundraising process with a sausage sizzle.

All Whites

It was great to see so many people supporting the All Whites today by wearing white to school! Here's hoping they do well tonight.

Zumba

Today Michelle from BodyWorx Gym in Hokitika came to talk to us about careers in the fitness industry. While she was here she took us through a few Zumba songs and moves. We also got to make up some of our own.

What did you learn about the fitness industry today?

The Crunchie Challenge

Room 5JP and 5CO pupils have the chance to earn a Crunchie bar. Get a family member or friend from overseas to post a comment that tells us something interesting, asks us a question or makes a statement about something we have on our site as well as mentioning the student they know from our classes and tell us which country they are from and the student they know will get a crunchie bar.

Students can earn some Pebbles if their parents comment on our site!

National Young Leaders Day

Several students from our classes attended National Young Leaders Day in Christchurch at the beginning of June. This was an awesome experience for all of them. When reporting back to Room 5JP the leaders told us some of the really inspiring quotes they heard from the fabulous speakers they listened to.

Queens Birthday

Hey everyone. I hope you have all had a great weekend. I'm sure our basketballers had a great trip and played their best. What interesting things have you done over the weekend?
